The new iPod Touch and iPod Nano begins shipping.  This should be good news for those awaiting for their shipments, and those 4g iPod Touch owners looking for a significant upgrade to their handheld "gaming" machine.  Macotakara has gotten their hands one one and were able to get a Geekbench score showing that the new Touch performs very closely to the 4s.
