Siri division to be handled by ex-Amazon Executive -- decreases reliability on Google?

According to AllThingsD Apple has hired William Statsior to be in charge of all things Siri.  This is a strong signing for Apple as he has had a number of positions throughout the tech world   Most recently he was the Director of Search and Navigation at Amazon.  He was also the president of A9.com, Director of Advanced Development for AltaVista, and a Senior Developer with Oracle.  He also has a research and development background from MIT.

This signing is really exciting for Apple.  William combines the knowledge of the tech world with a really strong background in research and development.  Bringing his search and navigation skills to Siri is going to mean good things.

William's knowledge is going to give Apple another tool in their attempt to avoid integrating Google services into their products.  He has the skills to develop an interactive search database with no Google reliability.  This reinforces the possibility of a Google-free Apple in the future.
